This Hand Foiler is a self adhesive copper tape designed for the Tiffany style copper foil method of stained glass construction. It wraps neatly around the edges of glass pieces, providing a smooth surface for soldering and creating beautifully detailed joints. Description
This Hand Foiler helps speed up the foiling process whilst keeping the foil centered on your glass. It comes in three different sizes:- 1/4 inch 3/16 inch 7/32 inch Hand Foiler instructions: Remove any oil from the glass by washing it thoroughly. Dry. Insert the foil into the opposite end of the roller through the slot. After inserting into the slot, peel back foil approximately 3" from the paper. Remove 1" of the paper backing and back through until the paper is showing on the other side of the slot and it separated from the backing where it enters the handle. Then pull the foil up to the other end towards the roller. Guide foil underneath the roller. Now the paper backing should easily separate when you begin to foil your glass. Grasp the foiler leaving thumb free. Insert edge of glass piece between guides on the underside of the tool. It is important to hold the foiler stationary while rotating the piece of glass. Keep the roller pressed against the edge of the glass with even pressure during the entire application. We also recommend the Creator's Burnisher for burnishing the foil to the glass,
